Last night the XGen team had a blast showing off Super Motherload at Democamp (http://www.startupedmonton.com/programs/democamp/).  Hosted by Startup Edmonton, Democamp Edmonton is the local edition of a global initiative to demo “real, working software” in just ten minutes. The lecture theatre at the U of A filled up at an impressive pace with people eager to feast their eyes on the latest technology being developed in Edmonton. It was our first time demo’ing at the event and we were humbled by the quality of everyone’s products and presentation, though, our admittedly unorthodox “show, don’t tell” approach got a few extra laughs as we made ourselves feel at home by sitting on the floor in the auditorium with our Wiimotes. It’s cool to see the industry here grow due to the continued support from groups like Startup Edmonton, Democamp and Gamecamp. We also chatted with fellow presenters from the team behind Life Goes ON (http://www.lifegoesongame.com/): a hilarious puzzle platformer with a dark twist (you can check out the demo on their site). Cheers to all the presenters and many thanks to Cam and Ken for inviting us to be a part of this event.
